DR ASWIN THAMPY

I’ve spent years improving how patients get care.

I’m a GP, senior clinical leader and NHS Clinical AI Fellow. For more than 15 years, I’ve worked with primary care teams to improve how care is organised and delivered. I now bring that experience to clinical AI, digital change, mentoring and advice.

Leading change in primary care

As a Clinical Lead GP and Clinical Safety Officer, I’ve led digital change across large, multi-site primary care services. I work with clinicians, operational teams and patients to make sure changes are practical, safe and useful in day-to-day care.

Getting more from clinical data

I build custom searches, clean and analyse data within agreed safeguards, and use AI-assisted tools where they help. This can reveal patterns that routine reports miss and give teams a clearer basis for action.

Reducing repetitive work

I look for slow, manual processes that take time away from patient care. I can help design and test AI-assisted workflows, including agent-based tools, with clinical review and safety checks built in.

Making services easier for patients to use

I work on the points where patients meet a service: how they ask for help, what a practice website tells them, and whether messages are clear and accessible. I want digital tools and patient information to make the next step easier for everyone involved.

What I do now

Alongside my NHS Clinical AI Fellowship, I mentor clinicians moving into digital health and advise healthcare teams on AI, product design, implementation and clinical safety. I also speak about what I’ve learned from leading change in primary care.
